Daniel R. Richardson, Esq.
After graduating with a bachelors degree in mathematics
and computer science in 1969, Dan started his career working as a computer
software developer for the U.S. Air Force as an officer, and later, for major
corporations as programmer, systems analyst, team leader, project manager and
department manager. He started his own consulting company in 1977, providing
business application software development and management consulting services to
San Francisco Bay Area businesses.
Dan was always interested in the law while working as a
computer consultant. With the dramatic changes in business triggered by
the impact of computers and software, he identified a need for attorneys who
were experienced in the high technology arena, particularly in areas related to
computer software. So he decided to change career fields and become an
attorney working in those areas. After graduating from law
school, he was admitted to the California State Bar in 1993. Now, as an
intellectual property attorney, Dan uses his expertise in the law of high
technology to help clients get the best value from their intellectual property
and protecting their IP rights.
While practicing law in san Francisco, Dan was approached
numerous times with immigration problems, so in order to better assist his
clients, he decided to add immigration practice in order to serve the diversity
needs of the Bay Area community. Dan is a member of the national American
Immigration Lawyers Association, and he helps immigration clients with legal
services for deportation/removal defense, visas, asylum and citizenship
services.
As an individual entrepreneur, Dan always
had a strong interest in the tax implications of business
transactions. He furthered that interest with a Masters
degree in Business Administration. Even though Dan is not
a CPA, he decided to help individuals and businesses with their
IRS problems using his negotiation and business skills to assist
his clients in obtaining special IRS relief in the form of
Offers in Compromise, Installment Agreements and specialized IRS
problem solving.
One of Dan's sons, Brian, a trained paralegal,
joined his practice in 1999. Brian had substantial
experience in finance and collections from his work with several
major finance companies, including Northwest Financial.
Based on that experience, Dan and Brian decided to assist
clients who had judicial judgments, but who had been
unsuccessful in collecting them.
